Pinole Garden Club is a nonprofit organization [501(c)3] established in 1956 dedicated to promoting and encouraging the knowledge and appreciation of gardening, and to take an active part in civic beautification and the protection and the conservation of our natural resources.

Our club is a member of the Bay Bridges District, California Garden Club Inc., Pacific Region, National Garden Clubs, Inc. Pinole Garden Club is a Blue Ribbon Club, having received a Certificate of Achievement.

Pinole Garden Club participates in the following activities:  Arbor Day Tree Planting; decorating the Christmas Tree and setting up the Candy Cane Contest at the Pinole Library; performing a skit for local schools, "A Tree Grows in Pinole"; doing bi-monthly Garden Therapy at a local nursing home; and fundraisers.

Our newest project is:

- To spruce up the Jessie Howe Clark Memorial Garden located on Tennent Ave by the Pinole Public Safety Building and City Hall.  Jessie Hower Clark was Pinole Historian and Poet Laureate some years ago.  Club members will have the tree pruned and will clean up the area under the tree, working in conjunction with the City of Pinole.

Other current projects include the following:

- Club members will deadhead, prune and maintain the rose bushes at the historic Faria House Rose Garden.

- Club members will weed, prune, and periodically replant the garden area surrounding the City of Pinole Welcome Wall to keep it looking beautiful.

- Club members will display American flags on flag days and spruce up the area around the Blue Star Memorial Marker in cooperation with the City of Pinole and Caltrans.

Our club contributes to USDA Penny Pines; Blue Star Memorial Highway Marker; Merritt College Horticulture Scholarship Fund; Heifer Project International [Tree Seedlings Program]; and Gardens at Heather Farm.

Pinole Garden Club offers interesting speakers addressing gardening and nature subjects; tours; the opportunity to learn; the opportunity to contribute to the improvement of our community and our environment; and fun and friendship.

Membership is open to any person interested in increasing his/her knowledge of gardening and wishes to contribute to the improvement of our environment.

Dues:  $25 Annually

Meetings: Start at 1:00pm and are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from September through June except December (Christmas party) & April (annual luncheon). General Meetings run from 1:00-2:00pm, and guest speakers present from 2:00-3:00pm. Guests are welcome to attend the General Meeting.
