Annual Garage Sale
  • We hold an annual garage sale in the fall to help support our club activities. Members donate their surplus goods and plants, and then sell to the general public.
Christmas Luncheon & Gift Exchange
  • We enjoy a delightful Christmas Luncheon in lieu of our regular General Meeting in December. It includes a gift exchange and raffle, and everyone goes home with a beautiful plant and/or garden-related gift.
Anniversary Luncheon
  • Every April, we have a special anniversary luncheon to celebrate another year and to express appreciation to our former club presidents and members. The new slate of officers is announced. Everyone enjoys a wonderful potluck feast, and the club furnishes a lovely cake to round out the menu.
Annual Plant Sale
  • We have several sessions of plant propagation and seed planting at members' homes in February and March to get ready for our annual plant sale. Last year, we also created succulent wreaths to sell. We hold our Plant Sale at Pinole's Farmer's Market in May. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and supports our many club projects.
"A Tree Grows in Pinole" Skit
  • Every March, members put on a simple skit to educate the kindergarten students at two local schools in Pinole about the value of oak trees and the wildlife that lives in them. Club Members enjoy being "Thespians" for an hour or so, and both the teachers and the children are very receptive to the skit. Each class receives a book for the classroom.
Plant Talk
  • Twice a year, a couple of members open their garden for a tour. There are refreshments for club members, and discussion centers around the plants in the garden and garden-related questions.
