News from NGC
Thanks to contact made through Finkel and Binder, editors from This Old House magazine recently invited NGC to submit quality photographs of members’ gardens for a future article. Approval to participate has been voted on by the Executive Committee. Several gardens from across the country will be featured in a spring or summer article. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the talents of our members and bring positive publicity to NGC. Additionally, we will amass photos that we can use for other PR or educational opportunities.Robin Pokorski, Photo Archiving Chairman, has set up a special Members’ Gardens group that is ready to accept photos. Sharon Yantis, Print and Publicity Coordinator, will coordinate the recruiting of photos and work with the editor and club members to be featured. This will essentially be an in-house project, with our current professional PR firm (Finkel and Binder) used only to make sure that the article gives NGC the best possible publicity. Gardens to be included will be selected by This Old House.
Photos should have been taken during the past year or so. Given the name of the magazine, modern-looking houses should not be in the photos. The quality of photos should be at least Tif 40 mb or Jpeg 2 mb. The deadline for uploading photos is December 1st.
Please encourage entries or submit photos of your own garden. Send photos to Robin Pokorski at robinp@juno.com.
Include:
1. Name of Owner
2. Location: (city, town, etc.)
3. Garden Club and District
