Plantings for Public and Special Places recognition forms are due April 1st of this year and next year. Monetary awards will be presented in Buffalo to the best Gardens with Edibles, Container Gardens and Trees and Shrubs projects.   Recognition and monetary awards for Protecting Aquatic Ecosystems  projects will take place next spring.

The Vision of Beauty Calendar Committee encourages the submission of design photographs for the 2014 calendar, which will be printed in the United States. This reminder comes now so you can think ahead and arrange for photographers at upcoming flower shows.  Combining orders for 2013 NGC calendars with a nearby group and having them shipped to one address can save you money and greatly increase your profits.

Head Flickerette, Robin Pokorski, encourages you to submit photos for NGC's on-line archieves.

NGC Blue Star Memorial Chairman Mary Warshauer reports that prices for markers will increase effective May 1, 2012.  Memorial and Highway Markers will cost $1,350 each and Byway Plaques $450 each.  This pricing includes a 7’ post and delivery, except in the West, where $50 must be added for Memorial and Highway Markers.  Refurbishing will go up $50 to $800 per marker.  Posts remain at $325.  Questions, contact George Unrine or Sandy Rogers, CGCI Blue Star Memorial Chairmen.
