Program: An Introduction to Ikebana Floral Arranging with Bonnie.  Includes instruction and feedback on making your own arrangement at home.
 
Activity: Succulent Wreath Workshop September 23 and 25, 2020
Bring clippers and your mask as we make our own beautiful succulent wreath in a social distanced backyard.

Program: Water Replenishment District’s Eco Gardener Program will cover four topics: sustainable landscape design, drought-tolerant plants, edible gardening, and irrigation basics.

A socially distant goodie table to bring something and buy something.

Tour: Long Beach Historical Society exhibit "Water Changes Everything"

Plant it Pink Project Date: TBD in October
Pink Flowers delivered to Todd Cancer Center.  We will decorate pink carnations and deliver to patients at the Todd Cancer Center Infusion Center at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
El Dorado Nature Center November 13 9:30 AM
Tour and Educational Activity .  Speaker Megan O'Neill will walk us through the quarter mile trail and experience a lesson designed for students of the local school districts.

Activities for 2018-2019

Long Beach VA Hospital Gardening Program  Sept 21, 2018 9:30AM
The Long Beach Veterans Administration Hospital has created a gardening program where former military personnel can work with other vets in the cultivation of vegetables and fruits. The fruits of their labor are sold at local Farmers Markets and the proceeds go back into the running of the gardens. Gardening helps make the transition back into society a little easier.

Reimagining the Existing Garden
LBGC is hosting a workshop for National Garden Club consultants to renew their certificates in the areas of Environmental Studies, Landscape Design and Gardening Study. Two days of lectures will cover uses of a garden, how to define a vision for your garden, organizing a strategy for achieving your goals, materials used in landscape design, among other topics 
Instructors from the Theodore Payne Foundation, Long Beach City College, Association of Professional Landscape Designers, the National Garden Clubs, Inc. and CSU Dominguez Hills
LBGC members and the public are welcome to attend.
