  • October 11:  Orange County District "Mid-Century Madness" Flower Show
  • October 18-19:  Monterey Bay Area Cactus & Succulent Society Semi-annual Show & Sale
    • Sat: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm; Sun: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.  Admission: Free
    • San Juan Bautista Community Hall,  10 San Jose Street, San Juan Bautista, CA 95045. The semi-annual show and sale, will feature more than a dozen vendors offering hundreds of quality drought resistant plants for sale. Also an exhibit of unusual and exotic show plants.  Club members will be on hand both days to answer questions on growing these unique plants.  Free admission.

Theme this year is "An Antiques Roadshow".  Elizabeth Stewart, certified appraiser, will appraise & educate us on antiques..

  • October 25-26:  Chico Horticultural Society 40th Annual Standard Flower Show, "Great American Pastimes"
    • 10:00 am - 5:00 pm each day
    • Silver Dollar Fair Grounds Chico, CA  2357 Fair Street, Chico, CA 95928.  "Great American Pastimes" is the theme of our 40th annual Standard Flower Show, held in conjunction with the Fall Home and Garden Show.  Titles of the floral classes will reflect hobbies and pastimes. The other half of the show will feature member grown horticultural specimens. A plant sale and gently used gardening objects will round out the offerings.  A raffle or special sale will be offered to help fund our grants to local school gardens. Be sure not to miss this event!

    • Chicago Park's annual tea fundraiser.  A full English-style luncheon/tea with a Vintage Fashion Show to follow.  Featured this year are "Flowers & Fashions: Women Of The Gold Rush". A door prize, raffle baskets and holiday gifts are  available.  Donations support CPGC's Community Service Programs.

    • Trinity United Methodist Church, 285 E. 5th Street, Chico, CA  95926. Come and learn how to make a fresh holiday decoration!  Our floral experts will provide instructions and a variety of fresh-cut evergreens, berries, pine cones, wreath forms, ribbons, flowers, candles, etc., for your use.  Please bring your own gloves, clippers, and wire cutters.  Cost is $18 to make one centerpiece, swag, or wreath. Start a fun tradition and invite your family and friends!

    • Luther Burbank Art & Garden Center, 2050 Yulupa, Santa Rosa, CA 95405.  Award winning photographer Marion Brenner will take us on a photographic trip to Paris viewing some of the 30 gardens and garden projects featured in her new book (Sept 2014) In & Out of Paris: Gardens of Secret Delights.  The garden club will sell the book authored by Zahid Sardar, design editor of the San Francisco Chronicle, and the book will be autographed by Brenner.  Door prize and refreshments after.  Tickets go on sale December 10.  The event benefits Santa Rosa Garden Club's scholarship program for horticulture students at Santa Rosa Junior College.

  • March 19:  Santa Rosa Garden Club "The Flower Recipe Book"--Floral design event with Studio Choo
    • 2:00 - 4:00 pm
    • Admission: $25
    • Luther Burbank Art & Garden Center, 2050 Yulupa, Santa Rosa, CA 95404.  Alethea Harampolis and Jill Rizzo, founders of San Francisco's STUDIO CHOO, the hottest floral design studio in the country have created a flower-arranging bible, The Flower Recipe Book.  The arrangements run the gamut of styles and techniques--each one paired with a "flower recipe":  ingredients lists specify the type and quantity of easy-to-find blooms needed; clear instructions detail each step, and hundreds of photos show how to place every stem.  You'll get to see Alethea and Jill serve up fresh, wild and sophisticated arrangements that will be auctioned at the event.  Santa Rosa Garden Club will offer both of their books for sale and autographing at the event.  Door prizes and refreshments after.  Tickets on sale January 10
    • The event is a fundraiser for the Santa Rosa G. C. scholarship program for horticulture and floral design students at Santa Rosa Junior College.
