Evergreen Garden Club

Evergreen Garden Club was organized in 1957 with members in the Carmichael and Fair Oaks areas. Our club meets the first Tuesday of the month,
usually at the Carmichael Library on Marconi Ave. at 11:30.

THEME
"Reuse, Recycle and Repurpose for the Good of the Earth"

CONSERVATION PLEDGE
"I give my pledge as an American to save and faithfully defend from waste the natural resources of my country - its air, soils and minerals, its forests, water and wildlife"

PROJECTS AND AIMS

To cover as many phases of gardening as possible
To have a horticulture lecture at each meeting
To study the preservation of ecology
To support the PENNY FOR PINES REFORESTATION PROGRAM. (Penny Pines contributions are used for the reforestation in the California National Forests. When the progam began in 1942, one penny would buy one pine seedling and there were 680 seedlings per acre. Today $68 buys one plantation of about 325 trees)
